Bioenergetics E-NewsletterEdited by Nicole Cardoza DockterThis newsletter by the San Diego Institute for Bioenergetic Analysis (SDIBA). Bioenergetics is a relational psychotherapy based on the premise that a person's history is manifested in the energetic processes of the body. It is a body oriented, dynamic therapy integrating the attachment and relational elements of traditional therapies with an integral understanding of how the body both inhibits and informs our work and progress with clients.

Bioenergetic Exercises on DVDStressless: The Body as Guide Exercises for Renewal and Relaxation We are pleased to announce the release of the dvd Stressless: The Body as Guide, a powerful progression of exercises to combat stress. The dvd features 30 minutes of exercise specifically designed to quickly feel both relaxed and energized. It also includes a brief body-centered guided mediation for deeper relaxation. These exercises deepen breathing and increase body awareness, helping to release stress before it can build into symptoms of anxiety, depression and physical illness. The exercises are based on the principles of Bioenergetic Analysis, a traditional psychotherapy developed by psychiatrist Alexander Lowen in the 1950's. Bioenergetic Analysis addresses not only what the client expresses in words, but also what the client expresses through the body. Two trained Bioenergetic Therapists, an MFT and an LCSW, demonstrate the exercises in a manner accessible to anyone interested in reducing and preventing stress. Testimonials "This video gives the young and old, the new and experienced, a great opportunity and plenty of support to charge up in the morning and discharge in the evening". Michael Brennan MFT, CBT "These exercises provide a releasing and liberating experience for participants". Sukwon Ha, molecular biologist "I have just received the DVD and had my first look at it. It looks great! The wait has been worthwhile".
